You can definitely enhance the skills of your workers who are less educated and poor with a humanitarian approach. You can arrange for some sort of trining as per their skills,encourage them for their good work with appreciation or with enhanced form of remuneration. You should also have periodical meeting with them and find out solutions for their problems which they are facing due to inhuman attitude of their supervisors. You should also be liberal to provide them leave,medical facilities etc .in need. It is essential that you should be vigilant in your factory affairs and your workers should feel free to have access with you in emergency.without fear of their superiors.

some sweet music. good cookies. and lots of water. ice water with lemon. pay them more. or kill a kitten every hour if they are working to slow. you want the kitten to live then work faster you dirty mongrels.

why do u want to improve your workers skills? ..to increase productivity...or help them help themselves?? best thing ......ASK them what you can do for them in the work place...this will in crease there performance...plus create desire to have more skills..
