I don't own a hybrid, but I have been reading the reports lately and watching that very thing. Now they really have gotten the power to where it is very comparable to conventional SUV's. The down side is that a hybrid cost more and is much more expensive to repair. You do get better mileage but the improved mileage isn't good enough to offset the increased purchase price, not to mention the higher cost of repairs.

the term hybrid means that it is bred of more than one species. hence; the power of the original motor is not comprimised because the electric motor runs only when the vehicle is at rest or at low speeds, then when power is demanded the gas motor kick's in and delivers. thats about all i have to say about that.
