Considering I have a wallet full of fresh air, I'm running with the 'state of mind' theory. In any case, I've known a lot of poor people with far more class than their wealthy counterparts.

I think it CAN be a state of mind IF you have the clothing to wear and the Caddy to drive and the Mansion to pretend you live in!! Notice I say pretend? Borrow all of the above and let's see who don't think your a class act!!But I agree I to know some not so wealthy people who way out class some of the "so called class acts" in this area!I also gave you a star-good question!

Yeah but ..for some reason..people can "smell" if you really have money or not..I don't know why.
When I do have a wallet full of cash,,(times are few and far between),I like to dress like a bum,and go to posh stores and then "really" buy something to see the look on their faces.

Class has nothing to do with money. Class is how you speak. How you react in all situations good or bad. It is partly manners, but also how you carry yourself, and how you treat others. There are many subtle nuances to it and all of these aspects together are what make you classy or not.

Try reading the book, "Class" by Paul Fussell. You'll really enjoy it. He argues that there is a Class X, which doesn't care about class. These are people who speak more than one language, don't carry an umbrella because they don't care if they get wet, and don't care what other people think. You'll enjoy it.
