i don't know how to play drums of course, but don't factor that in. i can learn. i mean in terms of sound quality.

A real drumset. The sound quality is apparent, and the visual effect adds so much to the music too.

I don't play it neither, but I had always wanted one, I got my self a drum machine and is just not as fun as I thought it could be... if you can afford it, go for the real thing.

I think it depends mostly on the sound you're trying to achieve. Many good albums have been made with a drum machine, and of course many have been made with a drummer.

Tellin it like it is: Guys who play drum machine don't get laid as often as guys who play real drums. It's a fact.

i think it depends on the type of sound you're looking for...drum machines usually are meant for more synthetic sounding genres such as current r& b and hiphop...drumset is great for those as well but not common.
