I think it's a bit unique. It's a good name. There was a girl in dance class when I was little who went to a different school, and she talked about a boy named Jamison. So that's what I think of when I hear that name!

The boy's and girl's name Jamison \j(a)-mi-son\ is pronounced JAY-ma-son. It is of Scottish origin, and its meaning is "son of James". Surname sometimes used as a girl's name.

A baby name that sounds like Jamison is Jamesina. Other similar baby names are Jamilyn and Maison.

Jamison is a very rare female first name and a very popular surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census). Displayed below is the baby name popularity trend for the girl's name Jamison. Click here to compare Jamison with related baby names.

Jamison has to be one of my favorite boy names. I couldn't get hubby to go for it on 3 different tries!! (We have twin sons and another son on the way due March 29th!) Everytime i asked, he said no :-( I LOVE the name...i think it is nice, strong, manly. Very good pick!!
My choice for middle was going to be Jamison Matthew!

I like Jamison; though I like this spelling much better. Jameson.
I like the effect of the short "e" has in the center.

I think it's a good name, I like it better spelled Jameson though. But either way it's great cause it also allows for James, Jamie, and even Jay or J as nicknames. The only reason that I wouldn't name my baby that is because i don't want to associate my children with anybody from my life (past or present).

If you call him Jamie for short he will get made fun of. I actually knew two Jamisons.... Both of them were kinda jerks/tools. But that doesn't mean your son would be. Personally I don't like it.

To be honest, I don't like it, sorry. But you know, it's not the worst name I've heard, why don't you just name him James and give him a unique middle name? Good luck and God bless!

Yes i love that name and in fact i put that name on here alot when someone is asking for baby names for boys.
I wanted to name my son that but our last name ends in "son" and it just would have looked and sounded stupid.
