Why are kids so bad? I think we should take all these little hoodlums over our knees and give them a good spanking before they end up in jail or on the dope. Also, why are kids so much fatter now than 10 years ago?

I think there are 2 reasons. First of all, discipline is practically against the law these days.Spanking will practically get you the death penalty. This "time out" crap doesn't work. I got whupped when I did bad, and you better believe I didn't do bad the second time. And I did not grow up to be a violent person, because I knew my "whuppin" was for my bad deed, not because my parents were violent. In fact they lived by that saying "This is gonna hurt me alot more that it will hurt you.". Add to that the scenario of two people working all days and these kids are free to run rampant as they please, it is almost as though the parents are afraid of the kids. Microwaves are convenient, but the crap made for them is so full of saturated fats, it is ridiculous. A kid has money in his pocket, he is not going to the 7-11 to buy fruit, no, to buy crap, junk, soda, etc. And kids have this money and do not have to earn any of it. It is just handed to him. I had to work for my 50 a week allowance, and you better believe I appreciated it. The future is looking pretty scary. A commedianne once said the menendez brothers killed their parents because they weren't afraid of them. If you read between those lines there is alot of truth there. I see these parents in public places letting their kids run rampant, disturbing the general public around them, and these parents are beaming smiles at just how cute their demons are. I once was being kicked by some 5 yaer brat, and when I commented for this little piece of crap to cool it, the mother (for lack of a better word) actually tore into me for spealking up. Back in the old days, If i was that little monster, my mother would have ripped me a new one. I am, to this day, afraid to disappoint my parents.

Technology. Kids sit in front of computers, TVs and video games all day, even when they're 'learning'. Chidlren don't know how to use their imaginations anymore because everything is done FOR them. What ever happened to imaginary friends, playing outside, making up games?
Bad parenting. Parents don't like punishing their kids- they'd rather be friends to their children than parents. Also, kids learn to be the way they are because of what they see- rudeness is rampant in the media, and in many adults these days.

fact is , alot of schools have banned kids from playing tag at recess cause they might get hurt, ********, let them run. All we did was run and play. we had no internet, we had atari and even THEN we spent maybe an hour playing that. WE rather be outside playing and running.
Parents are told if they spank their kids they will get in trouble.OH yeah really? I don't see anyone at my door.

Theres to many things for them to do sitting on their butts, internet, video games, T.Vs in every room, why they are so bad, I don't know either, my son is so out of control, he throw his homework on the floor tonight and jumped up and down on it, even when I tried to help he told me to go away, I wish I knew.

it's not kids it's the parents my parents have had to teach me but they did it correctly and i am smart enough not to do drugs because their for the ignorant people who label them selves ghetto(a.k.a. a poor neighborhood) and because we're not cabbage eaten folk and more of the activities we children find now are no longer chasen our dog blue out in the fields it is sitting are fat asses down in a chair and stairing at our TV and our monitors

because parents are notparenting and so busy workling they do not cook for the kids and they buy junk all day long! Starts at home

Video games, Internet, and satellite TV. There's so much technological entertainment available now that basketball and hide n seek have lost their appeal. :(

because some people think that being bad is cool..and when you're bad you like "rule" and stuff...
Kids are fat because...junk food taste better than healthy food and junk foods make people fat..
