They are loyal, compassionate, honest, and accepting of your traits. They are worthy of your trust, your loyalty, and your time. They are unflinching in the face of diversity, dependable in times of need, supportive in your endeavours. They are not selfish when it comes to sharing, have a sense of humour and a realistic perspective. They have an idea of when to give and when to take. They know when to ask you for help. Most importantly when you can't trust your own instincts, you can trust them to tell you the truth and you know that the sometimes harsh criticism you may receive from them stems from the love and concern for you. They also expect the same from you.

There is a saying, "A friend in need is a friend indeed" which implies one of the characters of good friends or the priority of all should be concerned with their readiness to help you when you are in trouble. In other words, they should suffer with you and fight any plight by you till the end, thus please beware of those around you when you are rich or popular since they tend to be your friends for their advantage and whenever they see it is no use having you as a friend, they simply leave for a new prey.
