Eleanor has actually been growing in popularity for the last few years, so I wouldn't say that's old fashioned but rather on the cusp of being really trendy.
Edith actually isn't bad, and might be a refreshing change. You might even be ahead of the trends since other old fashioned names such as Eleanor and Emma have already found new success and you're just taking it one step further.
And I love the nickname Edie.

SO cute...I like them both! "Old-fashioned" names often come back in style every so often. Both these names are really sweet. I like Edie better than Edith though. But Ellie and Eleanor are adorable.

I like the E name Esther- it's Biblical and it's elegant.
Edith sounds like Judith, and I like Judith
Elanor automatically makes me think of the former first lady, and I guess that's okay, but it's a name to live up to, I'm not sure I would want that kind of pressure. Good luck and God bless!
ps- they aren't too old fashioned, they've aged well.

ellie and edie are cute, the full version are very old fasioned but who says you have to name your child the full length version opt to naming just the short ellie or edie, its becoming more popular, kinda the updated version of old classic names i guess
