The United States of America is the World Power now because we have supported the world with our blood, sweat and tears, and many lives have been given to give the freedom we need in the world for progress and better living, like a toilet in every home in those third world countries for instance? Deplorable they have such poor hygene. I resent the fact that all these people blame America and her people for trying to save people from tyranny and bring them into the light to choose for themselves? That is ungrateful as hell! And yet I pity them emphatically for being from the dark ages and have not even seen daylight yet? We will remain the world power with China and India as a team as long as the Communist don't get chesty then you will see all these Arab countries, and Russia fight side by side with the Americans because that would be a real blood bath without support if they chose to stand on their own. so let us all pray for peace, instead of having pissing contests okay? Because China has no patience or tolerance for opposition when they have a goal to reach. And they do not trust or like Iran, Iraq, Saudi, Pakistan or any of the 21 Arab countries at all. After the WTC explosion, the drug out the Islamics into the square and each got a bullet in their heads. In no time at all they rectified the situation so that they had no problems at all. And in fact I don't think they will have either because they don't care they will kill you in a wink of an eye, if you pose a threat of impose upon them when they are reaching their goals, best leave the sleeping Dragon alone.

at the moment we have one super power. that is not to say that they are the only powerful country in the world.
what you ask is what a no-mind asks a soothsayer. they say that hindsight is 20/20 so here we go. Vietnam... now that was a war, wouldn't you say? by the time it was done the Americans had about disowned their troops....partly out of shame and the other part was "what the hell were we doing in that country in the first place??"!!!!!
i keep saying that the world does not want a third world war. simply that scenario or concept, if you will, is impossible. hell we have some stooge with a button in front of him and if it ever got pushed the earth wouldn't be worth saving no mo!
so what country will run the world? well we have to get past global village first right? then maybe we evolve toward a president of the world. all of this could come to pass if we don't usurp mother earth's resources first.
i am of the generation who have seen the most change any generation has ever seen. and we're not done yet. the future, i fear, could be quite bleak for humanity. you do not make an appointment to have an accident. and acts of God could be just that....overwhelming accidents. man is his own worst enemy and i know it's been said too many times already.
if you stand back and look at how we've ravaged this earth already in the last half century....i know it boggles my mind. the ocean wasn't invincible, neither was the forest or the ozone layer....need i say more?
who the hell will want to rule the earth??!!

Currently the US is the world leader due our strength of military, economy, and ingenuity.
In the future, the US, China, and India. Say around 2100 China and India will be #1 and #2 with the US at #3. The economic might of China and India will overcome the US position. All three have large militaries and nuclear armed.
Germany, Russia, Britain, and France are on the downhill descend. That is why the European Union was formed, to get strength in numbers to compete against the US, China and India.

US leads the world now! But countries which support terrorists will lead it in the future because we fear terrorists! I guess Iran have most of terrorists there (they will possess nuke at this rate)! So they will be the best candidate! It is a good thing, isn't it; since we can let them have our job in regulating those complicated international affairs!

the US currently runs much of the world, but it is fighting too many wars.
just like nazi germany tried to take on the soviets, and britain, and the US...all at the same time.
the US is fighting afganistan, iraq, and calling for regime change in iran.
the loss of life is tragic.
