Apparently there's a major transit coming up where Pluto is in/with my ascendant (sagit). What can i expect?

I have been told that a major transit is about to take place for me. Not sure of terminology but something about Pluto in my ascendant (which is sagittarius). Apparently this is very rare. I am not sure what to expect. I have been told this will last till end of 2008. Any information will help! Thank you!

In Western Astrology, the influence of Pluto is thought to represent transformation. This transformation is thought to be part of the natural process, and although slow, very powerful in much the same way Winter is part of the Earth's seasonal process. A Plutonian transformation, then, while enabling profound change carries the risk that if you engage in an underhanded, dishonest or impulsive manner while under the influence, the results could be counter productive.

In mythology, Pluto was the god of the underworld, and that's why the planet(oid) Pluto was given that name (it was though to be the farthest planet from the Sun)., and the dark nature of Pluto is symbolically represented within Astrology as the transformation that carries with it a kind of Karmic risk.

Pluto transits each house in intervals of roughly 12-16 years. In 2007, Pluto is completing a transit of Sagittarius. Pluto was joined by Jupiter in Sagittarius in late November of 2006 where it remains until late December 2007.

For astrologers, the presence of Jupiter-representing luck, expansion, and protection--in the last year of a Plutonian transformation is thought to be siginificant in that it means that there is a good chance there is some protection against the more severe aspects of the Plutonian transformation, and that the results will tend to be benevolent if not lucky.

Since your Ascendant is Sagittarius, the Western astrological interpretation would suggest your Ascentant's first house characteristics (your image or appearance) will tend to be affected by the transformation (now in its 12th year), and since your Ascendant is thought to imply how others see or understand you to be, this is a kind of redundancy. The presence of Jupiter would tend to suggest one or both of two things: either this change in your appearance or how the world views you will be beneficial to you, or you are getting fat--smile.

A lot depends on the specific interactions of your natal chart. I've seen a few people go through this transit though. A few of them lost a lot (over 50 pounds) of weight and seemed to do it very easy. Pluto is a planet about change and transformation. It could be to your apperance - like the weight loss. (the Ascendant rules the body and apperance). It might be a change in how you see the world, or how it sees you. Try searching for the terms "Pluto conjunct Ascendant" to find more information. well im not sure what you mean .. if it is conjuncting now it might still form a conjunct for a couple of years into capricorn. or if it just entered your first house in which it will be there for a very long time. (12+ years).

pluto transits are often very very slow. and usualy have a transformative nature to what you can expect... because the ascendent rules your outer self, you will probably find great new depths in yourself .. and from them you will probably dredge up a new way of looking at life and people will probably see you in a new way..

either way, good luck with it ... pluto conjuncted my ascendent quite a while ago as my ascendent is in early sagittarius. it can be a very hard aspect to deal with .. but it usualy turns out for the better ...

Obviously, you can expect the unexpected.

Look for unexpected health issues. Could be a sudden interest in your own wellness, exercising, working out. Or it could be a sudden NEGATIVE health issue, illness, short-term (2 years).

You could either get some money, lots of it. OR, you could lose lots of it. Stock markets. Credit cards. Debts could take a turn for the worse OR a sudden inheritance might take you somewhere else. Either way, the money will be gone in 2 years. Or else, the financial problems will run their course after 2 years. Best advice: Dont build any more debt than you have now.

Since the ascendant reflects the body somewhat, look for changes there. Gain weight. Lose weight. Nothing stays the same. It'll happen in extremes, not gradually.
