It's 11:50... I'm really tired. I was in bed, for probably an hour already. I just laid there. My husband's already asleep and he has an early morning so I got up so I wouldn't wake him from tossing & turning. I'm on the computer cause it makes my eyes tired. I already tried reading. And I don't want to take a sleeping pill, I don't like them. Any suggestions? This happens to me every couple months, I'll go through a couple days where I can't get to sleep or I wake up through out the night. Mostly it's cause I'm thinking about too many things. *Sigh* I'm just frustrated cause I can't get to sleep. :(

Try melatonin we use it with our daughter who has trouble sleeping and we can't give her any drugs because she only has one kidney. you can get it at most drug stores or health food stores. It is very safe because it is something natural that your brain produces. Sometimes we just need alittle more to get on track.

I use hypnosis from a website called hypnosisdownloads.com.
It doesn't matter which one you get because they all relax you so well. Furthermore, they are very positive and make you feel great.
They're about 15 -20 minuts long and if I listen in bed, I'll usually be asleep before it even finishes.
Just a note that you're suppose to use them during the day - but I discovered if I listen to them when I'm tired, they put me to sleep with a smile on my face.
It's 8 bucks for a download and you can get your money back if you don't like it.

I have the same problem. I can go through my whole past, present, and future when it is time for me to go to sleep. The best thing that has worked for me has been my sleeping pills AmbienCR. But, you can eat a banana which has shown to promote sleep, and you can also read a book or drink a herbal tea without caffine, or you can drink some warm milk. It is best not to eat a high fat food 2 hours before sleep, and to not watch tv and hour before sleep and to write down all of your thoughts before you go to sleep.
I hope you can sleep well tonight. Have a good night!

When I can't sleep it is usually because of caffeine... drinking too much right before bed. Also if you are taking naps during the day could be causing you to not sleep. Your mattress may be another problem.
Some solutions would be to exercise before 8pm. Make yourself tired by working your muscles. Another solution is yoga... it should help you relieve stress of not being able to sleep and help calm your mind from "thinking of too many things."
Hope this helps... Have a good night!

Are you stressed out? When you go to bed, do you end up thinking too much. Maybe you have a lot on your mind. You could also have insomnia. You could try a cup of tea or reading a book. I don't try to freak out about things like this until its disrupting your life or daily patterns. If you can't sleep, stay awake until your tired.

Try drinking a glass of milk. Some suggest warm milk, but I couldnt stand that. I live with that problem everynight. I can't fall asleep and when I do, I can't wake up.

Try working out...tire yourself out.
You can also eat a banana or a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. They have calming effects. Not sure where I read it from.
Whatever you do, stay away from caffeine. I also don't recommend medications.
