well if he is 18 and dad and mom don't have insurance then it is on him to sue you not them. If this happened on someones property he can sue them and get paid for medical. I believe that it is up to him not mom and dad and to be safe if I was you I would speak no more to them about it unless you have an attorney cause anything you say can be held against you. be careful what you speak to them or any close friends of theirs that may turn on you in court.

I'm sorry about the drama your dealing with. It was an accident its not like you got in a fight with this guy and "deliberately" knocked his tooth out. Try to have your parents settle this out with his parents. Your a minor so this will be up to them. I think the most reasonable thing to do is 50/50...but it sounds to me that your friends parents are exaggerated. If they want to file a lawsuit let them do it and have an attorney ready...they can't get far. Be careful on what you say. Sh)t happens at this point they need to be civil and find a solution.

U'd have to find out what is ur legal right. It sounds like it was an accident which u didn't cause-he ran, he fell.

From the parents point of view: Yes they are angry, &have a right to be-dental costs are high u know. but they cannot just put the blame on u.

the solution: 50/50

i would think the lawsuit would have to be originated from your friend if he's considered an adult in your state. talk to your parents and have a talk with the other family to work it out
