Do I think that being single is pre-determined at birth? No, but I do feel that a great deal of people will in fact live out their lives without a significant other by their side. These other answers are completely dismissing the fact that many people CHOOSE to be single... the idea of having "a partner" isn't the only road to happiness... and for anyone to suggest so is ludicrous. Also, the notion that people that lead the single life must be untidy folks that still live at home is absolutely off base.
I suggest reading "quirkyalone" by: Sasha Cagen... and w/ International QuirkyAlone Day (Feb14) soon approaching it may be an ideal time to.

I do not believe in destiny or meant to be. Before our conception there are already genes in both parents, then 9 months of growing up and forming then the child molding etc etc. If one is sexually abused for example it is very difficult for her or him to trust the opposite sex and might remain single for this reason. Same way if in genes, or while in the womb or growing up there are some ideas embedded in the child they could direct him or her to remain single, and in this case, it is meant to be because forces around that child moulded him that way.

Yes, I believe that some people are naturally single. Take my cousin for an example, he still lives with his mother. He has no idea of personal hygiene and he is VERY untidy!! He will be 50 and still be living with his parents.

I think some people were, but I think these people recognize and are completely happy with it. If you feel unsatisfied single, you're probably not one of those people.

No... if there were people that were born to be single, they wouldn't have reproductive organs. Seriously.

no...that's no way to live...
plain and simple...if you think you will never have anyone special that is exactly what you'll get...vice versa, voila!
law of attraction...what you think is what your life becomes :)
