Chavez will be dictator for life, he has built a million man army, no reason to do that less you got delusions of grandeur on the mind. Look for an invasion of one of his neighbors under some "freeing them from capitalism" b.s pretex. The US will eventually have to take that nut job out. And to think, this was all caused by giving poor uneducated people democracy. Maybe spreading it to the middle east ain't such a good idea after all.

Chavez has been given the power to govern by decree for the next twelve months. In other words he is now a dictator. What is to prevent him from putting forth a decree that his powers to rule by decree be extended indefinitely? In the short term Chavez may do good things for the lower classes, but, judging by history,
power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I'm afraid that the people of Venezuela do not have a very bright future.

Remember, Hitler was elected and given absolute power by majority vote. Pre-WWII Germany was a Democracy. Venezuela is a democracy. Democracy is the path to fascism.

democracy = unlimited majority rule; not freedom.

United States is NOT a democracy and was never meant to be one. Know your history.

If the democracy advocates win, the US will follow the same path as Venezuela.

It's going to be the next Cuba. Chavez idolizes Castro and his system of governing.

its president is leading the country and formulating its policies to suit his own political agenda instead of the good of the nation. revenues from sales of its oil resources has been squandered away doing the unneccessary just to oppose the US. with a president like that, wat future are they talking abt? like Cuba?

I have no idea, really...but I DO think it's hilarious that OUR stupid, corrupt, inept, joke of a president criticizes THEIR stupid, corrupt, inept, joke of a president, and vice versa. Two morons playing "did not, did to, did not, did to", "...but he started it!"
