I've had my ipod since last chistmas, warranty is long gone expired. Lately i have problems with it,freezed up during uploading music and gives me an error, freezes up while i'm using it trhen i reset it and get a sad face, then the batter died out, then once i recharge it it acts completely normal like it never happened. I'm tired of it moving so slow, like freezes,i remember i waited one day for 5 minutes. Should i defrag my ipod? I heard it might be moving slow and acting up because of too many old files, its a 60 GB i've had to restore many times and i got over 20,000 songs. Advice please?

Did you visit an apple store? They may tell you what exactly what you have to do. Im sure they have had situations like this before and can lead you into the right direction. I mean, who knows? Defraging your iPod may make it worse.

Defragging it isn't what you'll want to do. It really sounds like you need to reformat it and reinstall the firmware, then add all your files back into it in one shot. Apple's webpage will tell you how to go about doing the reinstallation, and from there all you'd need to do is reenter your sync info (which playlists, podcasts, videos, and photos to load). Make sure you've saved any Notes that you have uploaded, since that's the only information that wouldn't be mirrored in your iTunes library.

reset it by going to start, programs, ipod, ipod updater, and click reset. It will delete all your songs on your iPod, but you can still redownload them on iTunes. I personally don't think Apple made Ipods to hold 20,000 songs.

nicely that is comprehensible with the ipod touches because of the fact the quantity of bandwidth that the action pictures soak up make the server run sluggish. Its like on a working laptop or pc. Youtube eats up assorted bandwidth and little bandwidtch makes all of it run sluggish ~~~~~~~~.
