I don;t see how although there must be some kind of reward for people to continue doing what causes so many health problems that could lead to their deaths.

I am a smoker and I say NO! It is not healthy in any way, shape or form. It may be a habit to where we "feel" as if we need it but definitely does not cause happiness. Major sickness and death and it only increases. I do plan on trying to quit again but this time with the help of a support group. That would make me happy :)

It must be delirious happiness because you'd have to be in fantasy land to think an addiction that has put more people in the ground than wars , is happiness .
Throat cancer . Lung Cancer . Tongue cancer . Emphysema .
Heart trouble . Just to name a few of the consequences from trying to get happy on cigarettes .

It might make some people happy when they actually smoke cigarettes, but they're not going to be very happy when they get lung cancer.

No. I enjoyed smoking the 1st yr or so; I thought it was sophisticated.
I smoked for 25 yrs & probably spent 20 of them trying not to. Its costly, smells awful & ruins clothing or whatever with cigarette burns. I was psychologically addicted to it which is why I smoked up to 4 pks a day & it took forever to quit.
Had chronic bronchitis & a rasping cough along with wheezing. After awhile your mouth feels ucky & if you smoke enuf your tongue gets furry. Not to mention you greatly increase your chances of getting lung cancer or causing someone else to get it with 2nd hand smoke.

If you believe this, someone's really messing with your mind. Take a basketball and hit it really hard against a wall, put a set on boxing gloves on and take a few swings at a bag. But please, how do you figure that smoking = happiness???????

i don't know about smoking making you happy, 'cause i don't smoke, but i do drink Pepsi every day. i'd consider myself addicted to the caffeine, and if i prevent myself from drinking one, i get a little depressed. not like REAL depression. but it makes me really moody. plus i get really bad headaches if i don't have one. and whenever i do drink a Pepsi, i get happy. it's a really strange but great feeling. i literally FEEL happier just from drinking a Pepsi! that may sound pathetic, but i can't help it. it's how i feel. i know it's bad for my teeth, but i still drink them... but hey, at least my addiction is only hurting me. i'm pretty sure no one's ever died from second-hand Pepsi drinking. ; )
cheers,
Shauna!

At first, no...then yes because we equate it with solving mild irritations (stress), so then it becomes a tool, and then a crutch-a necessity...until your mind desires more for your body...
then you re-train your thoughts and find a replacement behavior-oh, providing you made it that far...take it from someone who is there NOW
