While I think that people have the right to sit where there is no smoke I think that the USA (being a FREE country) should give its citizens the right to smoke if they please. I think that it is discriminatory against smokers.

Yes~It Should Be Left Up To Each Individual Business To Enact A Smoking Policy

Not really. Other people have the right to breathe clean air. Yeah, right. Like the air is any cleaner without smoke! There are so many toxins in the air that we breathe that it doesn't make any difference, when it comes to the outdoors. Indoors, however, I agree that there should be no smoking. I smoke, but when I'm in a restaurant eating and someone else is smoking, the smoke bothers me. So long as they stay out of my personal space with their laws, they are doing okay. Don't mess with my house or property!

I think the anti-smoke laws are a asset to our society because it lowers death rate not only for those who smoke, but those around them. There were more people killed by smoking than anything else in the last 5 years than everything else combined. So yeah I'd say they're a good thing

Yeah - who the hell are the government to tell us what we can do. Supposidly when the new law (UK) comes into effect you cant even smoke in your own car. Now thats crap.

surely its infringement of our human rights - whats with all the pubs being non smoking, why cant you have licences for both smoking and non.

in the news recently a woman has been banned from smokin in her council house and garden as the neighbours could smell it.

how are the goverment going to cope when they lose billions and billions of pounds annually, every other tax is going to rise without a doubt.

i could rant for ages on this one but i'll stop now - time for a smoke

I don't smoke but I think some of the laws being passed now a days are absurd. Ban smoking, ban certain cooking oils, when does it end?

Not at all, quite honestly what makes me angrier is going out and being stuck in a cloud of smoke. They should ease people into it tho and give them time to adjust to the new laws rather than changing them immediately.

Yeah, smoking should be banned altogether, and I am a smoker saying this! I have a couple of suspicions why it is not:

1. The government would lose a lot of tax revenue on cigarette sales. OR

2. The tobacco companies would go under and lead to a recession in the economy.

Its only no smoking in certain places. People who want to be healthy and especially children have the right to breathe air that isnt full of nicotene.

I'm very thankful for the non-smoking laws. I enjoy going out to dinner and being able to breathe while I'm in an enclosed area.

I really don't blame people for not wanting someone smoking in a restaurant, grocery store, or in a work place. But, when the laws effect people, in their own homes, that's stretching it too far.
