Yes but they did photograph beautifully. I live in So Cal and bump into celebs occasionally. Without all the make up and lighting most of them aren't even moderately good looking.

I agree for the most part.... I think everyone should look different but how are they expected to be a "top" model if they don't look like any of the models now? I couldn't stand Jade... she thought she was sooo pretty and I thought she was UGLY! ;o)

modeling is not about finding the prettiest girl its about finding girls that photograph well and are good in high fashion. It's about finding girls that are original and beautiful in a non conventional way. They are supposed to have distintive features so you dont mistake them for anyone else. The fashion idustry isn't about beeing pretty its about changing ideals and breaking boundries. In america they call it pretty ...and in Europe pretty doesn;t cut it. Its boring to be obviously pretty. Thats why you never see fashion models in tooth paste adds and hollister adds because its boring.
You obviously know nothing about fashion.
lol you people obviously have never met any super models...and your views are narrow. Gemma Ward and Raquel Zimmerman look amazing with no make up and jeans thats why they are all over the runways and campaigns. Its not about looking like the girl next door...its about being original. Most models are not anorexic...they just have better genetics then you. ...the sucessful ones anyways. Thats why they make it to the top of their industry.
I eat like a pig and i stay rail thin.

Models are often people who have something about them and who look striking when they have make-up on and under certain lighting. You probably wouldn't look at most of them twice walking down the street.

You have to understand that modeling is all about what women find attractive - not men. Why do you think the judging panel is only composed of women or gay men? I

It depends, if you find girls that are 6'6" tall and weigh 80 lbs. attractive...
I think the whole model thing is stupid, and I am not ugly or fat, i just would never want to pass up a great meal and life in general to look airbrushed all day long...I think they look freaky.
