I just joined this company for 5mths and was introduced by my ex colleague.

sounds to me he is saying never mind if the job doesnt pay much as long as you like your job because you might have a job making more money but what good is it if you hate the job? bettyK.

I believe what he means is that your salary is not as important as the working environment. That is even you can draw high salary but if you are not happy with the working environment, there is no point staying there and vice versa. So whether you decide to stay with your current company or not depends on yourself

They said "Money can't buy happiness", to some one it may be truth, but most people will be happier if they have more money; Ask your boss if he making less profit, will he still be as happy? He probly will squeeze more juice out from you guy, so don't buy that crap of what he said.

He may very well be inviting you to leave. I believe that I would ask this person directly just what was meant by the statement.
