Humans, like all spieces on Earth, are constantly evolving with each new generation. It's not "if" we will evolve, it's "what" will we evolve into, in the long term.

I like how the government talks about civilisation.... what a joke. look at what some leaders are doing. dropping bombs, etc!!!
The way I see it they are the ones who make a mockery of this term yet they are the first to jump up and down and jail those who protest against or for what they believe in.I think to evolve is to get better, the way its looking its only getting worse as the human race is on the brink. Quite sad really, considering we all have a little goodness in our hearts. If we didn't know right from wrong why do we end up hurt?
And the thing is, even the most ugly of people who may commit the unspeakable, still know they should not do it. Why are thy afraid to admit it if they believe other wise? Thing is, if we all band together, we are capable of more good than any other. People just choose to be ignorant.
So tell me how have we evolved? The way I see it. it's still animal instinct out there. Survival of the fittest.

Humans are constantly evolving. Obviously it takes thousands of years for the human species to show any changes but they are happening all the time, albeit, slowly. In a thousand years from now (if we last that long and don't wipe one another out)we May have larger heads, or be taller, or be completely bald, or whatever. It depends upon the food we eat, the way we live, our needs and so on. It is interesting that we are well advanced scientifically but we are far behind sociologically. We can fly to the moon but we can't seem to have even a century without a war. Religion hasn't helped very much and I wonder what will?

But do you think humans will evolve into something better? And what is "better" to you?

I see little evidence that humans are evolving/will evolve into a species that will be a better caretaker for itself, other species or the planet. We seem, instead, to be evolving into something more like an incredibly voracious, destructive virus. Or we've been that species already, for a long time, and whatever changes may be occurring right now do not seem to be mitigating these ugliest aspects of our being

We evolve in moderation to the environment. That's why we are still killing each other. Resources will always become scarce, there will always be domination/submission, and there will always be materialism/coveting.

Life needs essentials for survival. Those essentials are always at stake. Being better and sufficient means better chances. Evolution is happening everyday. Even before we pass generation our DNA structure is changing. If we break into a different species than that would require a large change in chromosomes and DNA.

We probably are still evolving! Darwins theory goes:
1. if there is variation in a population
2. that variation is heritable
3 some variants survive/reproduce better than others
4. there is a struggle for existence
5. then evolution will occur.

Obviously the first three are true. However, 4 is debateable; certainly in poorer areas there is a struggle to survive, however in richer countries with the advent of IVF, welfare etc exisiting and reproducing is not such a struggle.

So yep I reckon you are right, we are still evolving...but towards what!!

Oh, we're always evolving. It's a slow process, which is why you can't watch it happening in long-lived species like us, but it's always happening. Also, with modern medicine and technology, lots of people have kids who wouldn't have even survived childhood a few hundred years ago. Survival of the fittest takes on a whole new meaning when even people with terrible genetic diseases can procreate.

We are always evolving, as is every species on this planet. Evolution is not a spontaneous, instant action. It is a process that takes millions of years.

We seem to be evolving into the worse. I, myself, am improving emotionally, psychologically and socially, a lot of others don't want to better their lives. I don't understand that either. Why stay emotionally bankrupt when you don't have to?

We won't have time to evolve...The coalition for concerned scientists gives us perhaps another 100 years of sustainability...then we're all done
