How was it in terms of how far it is from the strip and if the area is safe (like walking at night)? thanks a lot!

The Platinum is just off the strip at Flamingo in walking distance but there is a lot of Bad Eliment right in that area because it is not on the strip it is at Koval road a lot of Drug Traffic right there . I Live In Vegas If You Have Any Other ??? YOU CAN EMAIL Me at: lvcenterfeild7@yahoo

The Platinum is a strip club. The hotel right next to it (name escapes me but I've stayed there twice for business) is a good value. Casino isn't very active but the facilities are nice. I believe Best Western operates this hotel.
It's definitely not walking distance from the strip. I would recommend a rental car. None of the casinos in that area are that great but Hard Rock is around the corner.
I also haven't heard good things about Platinum (the strip club). Never been but from the outside it looks like a dump.
