Is spaying/neutering absolutely necessary? Do they live longer that way? What exactly happens? Some people tell me it'd be easier to litter train them if spayed/neutered. And is having lots of baby bunnies that bad? Please help me here.

I'm not even sure if my bunnies or boys or girls.

Spaying or neutering a bunny reduces aggressiveness, calms them down so they don't hump everything in sight, and makes it possible for males and females to live together. (they tend to fight if they're not breeding)

Females will get uterine cancer after about the age of 3 if not spayed. And yes, they are easier to litter train if they're fixed.

Having baby bunnies just adds to the huge problem of bunnies without homes. Ask any rescue in the country whether breeding more bunnies is a problem, you'll get an earful.

IMHO, there is nothing more delightful than watching a loving, bonded bunny couple groom and care for each other, and having them fixed makes this sort of relationship much easier.

I ahd this exact same question. I had my bunny booked into the vets today to get him spayed but cancelled last minute. He is five and a half months old and so far so good. No biting or aggressiveness, he's humped me once but only once, and he is litter trained.

Rabbits are at very high risk when under anesthetic and are hard to bring around. So if you are keeping your bunny by himself, don't rush into it, and just think about it a bit before you get it done so you don't regret it later.

Good luck whatever you do!!!

Rabbits breed very quickly. It's unhealthy to have them breed too many simultanious litters and can lead to defects and illness in the babies, more so if the blood line are close

Think about it.... what if you had even 3 or 4 babies back to back? Space out litters but don't let the female have more then 3. De sexing isn't necessary but takes away the stress, expecially if you can't tell the boys from girls ;)

Guinea pigs are greater social, butneither of those are undemanding to guard. They take a super form of money and time and that they the two have particular desires which you would be answerable for which incorporate, a huge sufficient cage, a greater robust half, sturdy high quality foodstuff, vet care and a super number of affection. IDO not advise them for a ten 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous as a toddler is probably not accountable sufficient for this, yet once you're keen to be accountable, then decide for it.
