Tourette's is no longer considered a rare condition, but it may not always be correctly identified because most cases are classified as mild. Since the incidence may be as high as one in a hundred people, up to 530,000 U.S. school-age children may have Tourette's, with the more common tics of eye blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing, and facial movements

Yes and please dont take this wrong, but it really is a funny story. I am not making fun of this syndrome, I am saying this encounter was funny. My friend and I were at a club, he sat next to me, I even remember he ordered Tequilla, seemed ok. All of a sudden he starts talking to me, and in between his sentences he starts cussing real bad, I did not know what the hell was going on, a guy on the other side knew him, and told me not to be afraid he had tourettes. Well my friend didnt know, he asked me to dance and I told him I would not, but my friend would. Now that was to funny, they were on the dance floor and hes jumping all over the place, screaming and cussing! It was a hoot, boy my friend was in shock then pissed, then we all couldnt stop laughing, the entire club was roaring, we got alot of free drinks after that! Ciao

Yes, my HS chorus teacher had tourettes. Although his seemed to be mild compared to some I've seen on TV.

I frequently ask people what their past medical history/past surgical history is... so yes, I've come across quite a few people who list tourettes as a medical diagnosis... some you can tell have it (nervous tic's, blinking of eyes, unintentions speech, etc)... and other people you'd never knew had it.

I used to work with a guy that has that. Plus I know two other people who have it as well. The two people I know with it just have muscle twitches, which is controlled by medication. The guy is used to work with had it a little more severe.

Yes. We had a boy named Billy on our school bus. He had Tourettes. He would repeatedly curse (sh--) and wipe the back of his hand across his nose.

Met someone just last week. There are many different forms of this - and some are much worse than others.
