Well they evaluate our dreams bacause a lot of what we see in our dreams are things that occured in the past that are still on our minds. So they figure if they can get anything from the dreams, it's the things we think don't bug us or the things that aren't on our minds that should be. Dreams can reveal a lot....
When you feel like you're beign chased or beign stalked in a dream, it's usually a sign that we feel belittled, scared, or wanted by someone. When we see people, it's because there's something about them that triggers their presence and we need to figure out why.
A psychologist looks at this so he/she can understand what's causing you your problems or watever.

No. They really aren't interested in dreams because our dreams are too whacky to begin with.
If you had a really wild dream, it wouldn't prove your emotional state was good or bad. It wouldn't even be evidence of a mental illness.

Decades ago, psychologists and psychiatrists DID take a patient's dreams into account but not anymore.

It really is futile.

You should read the work of Carl Jung.

He did a lot of work on dreams. I was able to read my own and understand them, once I'd read his work.

I think one of the writers who has written about him was Freda Fordham, and the other was a guy called Bennett. ( The later book is easier to digest.

Sometimes Uni's will let you borrow books from their library.

Good luck.

I think dreams are very important. I'm not a psychologist but I think it's your subconcious trying to tell you something. You should read up on Freud's work, it's very interesting.
