The official press release was written by Bill Gould and said that the band was dissolving, but didn't give much reason. He humourously implied that it was Mike Bordin's fault (using his nickname, Puffy), but this appears to be a friendly jab. In subsequent interviews, various member stated that the band broke up because it was incapable of writing material that could match the energy, passion, and level of their older songs. In fact, it's common knowledge that the band named their final release Album Of The Year sarcastically, as no member enjoyed any of the material on the record.
