Sounds like you need to go to the head of the hospital, and have a nice long talk with them and while your at it - turn in the nurse to the doctor that your dad has & let the doctor know about your concerns.
Nurses are not lazy ! I am a nurse.
I have been a nurse for 15 + years and love my job. My husband is also a nurse.
Some people get into the profession just for the money. Good nurses do get worn out quite quickly. There is a great nursing shortage,so the nurses that are usually on duty work many hours, long days, and should someone call in and or not show up to work it makes it even harder on the rest of us..
In the long run its not the nurses that suffer its the patients.
God Bless your dad and hope he has a speedy recovery.
talk to the hospital administrator and your dads doctor
Good Luck

Hospitals are very understaffed when it comes to nursing professionals. Most nurses work a minimum 12-hour shift, without a break. When they do get a day off, they remain on call, so their day off is not really a day off, if you know what I mean. They are tied to their cell phone in case they are called in to work, which is more often than not. They are the ones who work every holiday and rarely get a vacation. They run their legs off from the time they get to work until they get home. Then they collapse from sheer exhaustion, too wiped out to do much socializing. Family get-togethers come and go without their being able to participate... weddings, birthdays, reunions, funerals...makes no difference what the occasion, because they're a nurse first. They are over-worked and under-appreciated. They are certainly not lazy. They are some of the hardest working professional people I know. Without them, we'd all be in a sorry state of affairs. Just thought you'd like to know the facts. There are three nurses in my family, so I speak from experience.

many nurses are lazy and have an attitude. I have been in multiple hospitals and worked in one many years ago, the nurses spend more time complaining about how hard they work (more time than working) complaining about other nurses , the doctors ex husbands etc...
the mythical nurse who is loving, compassionate , hard working and actually knows what they are doing are 1 in a 1000.

Not all nurses are lazy. Your dad must have been assigned a bad one. I have to defend myself here because I rarely get a break. Some days never get a break. Why are you too lazy to use spell check?

this is going to sound weird but visit him often and people will know he is being checked up on. get everyone to go check up on him. if you don't check up on him frequently they won't either. its kind of like insurance they will do a good job cause they don't want people thinking they do a bad job.

Because they have tech's now to do all the work. But in your case, they aren't doing their jobs. But, yes the more you show up, the more they will be on their toes.

so did they come in there and see all that and just walk out, or did they not know it was going on.
Nurses are not lazy, but they are very busy.
