Yes... I've kept one since I was twelve. That was almost 23 years ago! (Trust me... some years are more interesting than others!) Actually I fear that someone will read them before I die!

since I was 10. I have a whole shelf loaded with old journals. don't usually read them, it's been tough going most of the way. didn't matter if mom read them, or not.
I write, therefore I am.
when I have read them, I was amazed to see where I have been, and how far I've come. had this grandiose idea that my life was so incredible, that I had to write a book, and journals/diaries are food for a future book mill (if I ever get there) and things to remember when I get old and have nothing but memories, if I live that long. unfortunately, some of the most amazing days and nights were lost, because I didn't write them down, or was too busy, tired, etc. to write. those were days I wisht I'd'a' written about.
oh, well. it is a great practise to get my feelings outside of myself, release them from my sometimes tortured mind.
it's a good thing to do.

I keep one so I have a place to get my feelings out. I've kept it on and off for about 10 years. It's fun looking back that far and seeing how I viewed my life then compared to now. There are a lot of details in there that I'd have forgotten about by now.

Yes, I have kept a journal now for about 14 years and it not only helps me to express my feelings out on paper and to tell the events in my life but has helped with the whole "live and learn" thing so to speak. I feel it can be very helpful not only in the moment but for future uses too.

I keep lots of notes all threw the day.And I write my thoughts and feelings in journals.I've always done it but up until a few years ago I burned my journals once a year. I wish I had them now.You never know what value your thoughts and feelings at different ages will be to you. So, if you have a safe place ,I suggest you hang on to them.Write to your future self !

i used to have one when i was younger, it was good to let my feelings out, but one day my mom found it and read it, and there were some REALLY personal things that you wouldn't want your parents to see in it. i almost ran away. i was so angry i burened that one, but i bought a new one, i'm more carful about where i leave it. i've kept a diary for a good 5 years.

I just started keeping a journal. I don't write everything I do, mostly thoughts or events that stand out.
