3 and 5, according to George Orwell's book 1984. The concept of actual numbers are complete abstracts, but make logical sense when considered. To say that 2 pennies and another 2 pennies would give me 5 pennies is a logical falsity. The actual equation is not so important as the concepts it represents. Even a child who does not understand math will eventually come to the conclusion that adding a certain number of items to another set of items will result in the same outcome every time, as long as the numbers are kept constant.

Because if there are two apples and I get two more. I count them and it is always 4. (the words assigned to the number is how I know)

Although I was once married to a man how could make 2 + 2 equal whatever he wanted it to.

"2+2," as well as all math, is man-made. therefore, you can only trust that 2+2 is 4.
and since all mathematics are man-made, they can't really explain anything about the universe or ourselves because they were made, not found.
so in theory, 2+2 can = 2,000,000 if you want it to. it has no effect on reality.

Actually, 5. I've done it with my hands, and pondered it many times over, meditated on it. The concept of numbers are ridiculous, and I tend to think Chaoticly, and not too much on the same as others. To find how I got my answer, try it, and ponder it over and over.
