Traditionally, men are more OFTEN romantic - they bring flowers, open doors, walk on the outside of the sidewalk, etc.,.... These are all things that are considered chivalrous, but when its a date, they become romantic gestures.

On the other hand, the intensity of traditional female romantic efforts were by far less numerous, but more INTENSE. The drop of a handkerchief and a look over the shoulder for instance - that wasn't a matter of course kind of thing, but sent a very specific, yet deniable message.

That's the thing - these days, there is no courtship ritual. The ritual so to speak allowed everyone to communicate without having to be insulting - it allowed everyone to save face. The girl could always claim she really did just drop her handkerchief and the guy could always claim he was simply being a gentleman.

There is no ritual today and everyone - low and behold - is left wondering what happened - what does s/he mean when s/he says this? Should I ask him/her out? Does s/he like me or not? etc.,.... There are no 'outs' so to speak that can be used to save face - you pretty much have to be obvious and take your chances because there isn't that common ritual (rules) to the game anymore.

These days guys ask girls what girls are thinking and girls ask guys what guys are thinking. Back in the day, guys asked guys and girls asked girls only - figuring out what the opposite gender meant was simply part of the game and was learned through the experience of one's elders and through observation of your surroundings.

Both genders CAN be romantic, but neither are these days until AFTER there is a some sort of safety or certainty that its worth the effort. Romance used to be a tool to figure a relationship out AND keep it going - now, its to keep it going only while there is no real cultural system to get it started in the first place.

Now, we are comming to form new forms of the same non-verbal communications - buying a drink for the opposite sex, making dinner for the opposite sex (yes - both men and women do both things for each other these days), simply finding ways to sit next to each other at social gatherings yet making it out to be coincidence..... etc.,...

Same game, different set - the rules change, and society is learning to interpret the 'new' rules as they are formed.

Women can most certainly be romantic if that is what they want to do. I feel in any relationship nothing should be expected just from one side. It is give and take. So it should be both the man and the woman to keep the spark alive. It is always a personal choice though, of course.

Why couldn't a woman be romantic? I would define this as a personality trait. It should have nothing to do with men bestowing anything on anyone.

No No No. We have to be romantic too or the romance dies!! You can light the rooms with candles and meet him in a bubblebath. You can bring him things like coffee or cokes when he's working hard. Romance comes in small ways. Like having a song that makes you think of him (his best quality) and letting him know about it. Hold his hand at the movies no matter how old you are. Try to be his girlfriend once in awhile when you are together and have time. Just remember the way you felt when you met him or married him. That will bring it back!! Good Luck!

Of course women can be romantic. When my guy visits I put on soft music, light candles & wear suggestive clothing (e.g. a soft, low cut blouse & a slit skirt). I have sent flowers to men & a few times I've taken them to dinner in a very nice restaurant & placed the orders, tasted the wine & just generally made it a very special night. I've often initiated sex. Romance is pretty much of a state of mind & you're either naturally romantic or not. However, like everything else the effort is worth a try & well worth it.

Women born in Leo sign normally have a a royal nature. Activities like taking side of the weak, giving donations etc. come naturally to you. With a good capacity to organize & manage , you can manage organizations very effectively. Leos are kind, generous and open-hearted. Impossible to miss, they love to be the center of attention. Leos are ambitious with strength of purpose. Full of warmth and enthusiasm, they are a pleasure to be around. Leos are natural born leaders, but they may ruffle a few feathers along the way by being overbearing and somewhat autocratic. Leo's positive qualities are warmth, generosity, nobility, strength, loyalty, leadership and a soothing, gentle tenderness. Expressed in the negative form they become arrogance, false pride, vanity, tyranny, haughtiness and romantic promiscuity. They can be counted on to guide and protect those weaker than themselves. but you may find simalilarity but astrology is the rules but the rules are often broken

A woman can be romantic but women seem to think that men have to be. Women can be romantic for their men; all they have to do is create a candlelit dinner, wear sexy lingerie, and perform the sexual desires which her husband or mate is always indicating he wants. Being romantic knows no gender, it is what it is.
