In Shadow's answer, I disagree with the part of Naruto being the Kyuubi's son. The kyuubi is just a tailed-monster that was sealed into Naruto and had nothing to do with him before that. Many people think that it's the 4th Hokage. Yes, I agree. Some people think that his mom is Anko, the woman who led the 2nd Chuunin test in the forest of death because Sakura compares her to Naruto. Okay, maybe it's a bad guess, but what else besides a dead mother?

Naruto's father is the Yondaime Hokage, the teacher to Kakashi, Obito and Rin. Naruto's mother is already deceased at his being born, hence possibly at child birth. Yondaime Hokage bears a high resemblance to Naruto in appearance.
It makes sense that if Naruto is indeed Yondaime's son, this father is doing the entire village a favor by offering his own son as the sealing for the Kiyube in exchange for their safety. No other parents are yet as altruistic as Yondaime, mind you.

I have always wondered who Naruto’s parents were. Perhaps they were also killed by the nine-tail demon fox. Or perhaps he’s the Fourth Hokage’s son. Think of their resemblance and their character. Both seem to have the same personality. Also, Naruto is trained by the same person who trained the Fourth Hokage. The Fourth Hokage and Naruto both uses Rasengan. Hmm, coincidence? Truth is, it may not sound likely but who knows…it might be true.

It is believed that narutos mom died at childbirth but there is rumours that say that 4th hokage(yondaime) is narutos father. Traditionally, the Kyubi figure has always been a female demon who also has a human guise. In asian mythology kyubi is a mischievious/seductress figure. I think my theory is that the 4th and Kyubi fell in love and had naruto. But something happened that caused kyubi to go berserk, and the 4th hokage(yondaime) had no choice but to seal her inside their child's body.
This theory explains why despite being a supposedly evil demon, kyubi helps naruto out time and again (because he's her son). The villagers shun naruto because he's also kyuubi's son.
p.s the 4th hokage is NOT DEAD!!! I REPEAT HE IS NOT DEAD!! He is the leader of akatsuki.

Actually, it is unknown who really are the parents of Naruto. But in everyone's guess, it is obviously Yondaime/4th Hokage since they both have similarities in characteristics and physical appearance. 4th Hokage is already deceased. But who knows who really are the true parents of Naruto???

I dont no about his mom but his dad was the fourth hokage and as u probably no was killed in battle. he then put the nine tailed fox in his own son to keep it penned up.
