A good koan for the Christians. God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent say the theologians. They also say hell is the absence of God. The 2 statements are contradictory.

No. Hell is the absolute removal of one's self from God. It is not so much that God chooses not to be there, but that one decides not to be with God. As a product of free will, God allows this to happen, despite the eternal despair that is traditionally portrayed in Hell. For God to be present in Hell would eliminate the idea of a complete seperation from Him, giving way to the idea that even those in Hell (who have definitively been told they will be punished for eternity) still stand a chance at reconciliation.

Absence from the presence and from the word of God is hell. Will the Almighty know all that transpires there, yes he is omnipotent. The bible states that where two or more are gathered in his name his presence is there, so this in itself points out the fact that at some point the presence of God may be absent but that he still sees all. No, God is not present in hell. Hell is the punishment for not accepting God. It's everlasting fire until the end of time.

i can't say more than God is present every where, and is aware of everything including what goes on in heaven and hell, it is different from our presence as we are human and can't ever compare to God, how i wouldn't know and cannot elaborate on.my faith doesn't allow for imagining or making up stories so i won't.
scholars may be able to say more, and answers will differ .so if you want a specific religious view maybe someone can give a better answer. good luck in your quest.

Actually, the absence of God is the definition of Hell.

No, because a major aspect of hell is the fact that God is absent.

God bless.

if God is present in hell then why are people so unhappy of going to hell ? he knows what's in there but he would go in there no because he can't or he is scare but only because those are lost souls. that's why he created hell. and he could destroy it at anytime. but if he does then we wouldn't do the right thing because we won't be scare of going to hell.
