I have a weird outlook on relationships. I let them find me. I figure you're ready to be in a serious relationship when you feel like you don't need another person to complete you. Let them happen and bloom as they come along. Forcing it may just make it feel that way... forced

Instead of focusing on getting into a relationship, just start making friends with a lot of people. Go to a bar, chill downtown, go to the theater and just say hello.

Be up front when first meeting someone you are attracted to tell them you are not out for casual relationships they will admire you for being honest if they dont they are not worth worrying about.

As long as you are of legal age, you have to put yourself out there, otherwise you live under parents rules and what they say goes and if you reject that there are consequences.
