They use the samples (usually 2 viles) to run all kinds of tests, then your blood gets washed away with medical chemicals. The test results can often be sent to your Dr or to a survey that the Dr is participating with.
They can't use your blood for someone else, without your permission. =o)

Well,
After the blood has been tested and it is no longer needed it is sent to a Bio-Hazardous waste management.
But years ago blood was just simply poured down the drain into the sewer supply...Nasty thought.

Complete Blood Count - RBC's, hemoglobin, and hematocrit
Important to the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. White Blood Cells indicate immune deficiency.
Blood Grouping and cross matching - Determined in case blood transfusion is required during or after surgery.
Serum Electrolytes - Evaluates fluid and electrolyte status.
Fasting blood glucose - High levels could possibly mean you have diabetes mellitus
blood urea nitrogen and creatinine - renal function (kidneys)
serum albumin/total protein - your nutritional status
urinalysis - determines urine composition and possible abnormal components or infection ie. UTI
