Any type of vegetable matter - slices of frozen zucchini or cucumber, and wilted lettuce are all eaten. Just don't leave them in the tank for more than a day or they get nasty!

You'd be suprised what gets your snails going. In fact, algae alone would not be sufficient for your snails. There are commercially prepared food for snails. You could even feed them small amounts of regular fish food, and even live food.
I used to wash tubifex worms clean and then place them in a glass container (something high enough so the worms don't crawl out but low enough for the snails to get in). The snails would slide onto the entire mass of wriggling tubifex worms and chomp em down. Sometimes, a pet guppy would die and the snails also feast on them if I do not get it out early enough.

Oh,many many things.I have snails too.
Here's a list:

Spirulina
Algae wafers
Fresh Lettuce
Cucumbers
Zucchini
Liquid fish food
3-day and/or weekend feeders [they love that stuff!]
Feeding blocks
Liquid calcium[or powdered]
Tubifex worms
Any sort of fish flakes

Try looking for blocks or feeders with calcium, that is very much needed for the growth of thier shells!

*Crushed coral would also be an excellent substrate for your snails, coral provides excellent calcium.

Hope it helps.
