In case you're wondering, I'm not a parent and at 21 I don't plan on being one soon.

I'd be especially astonished by anyone who can justify an "A" or confess to an "F".

Well, be prepared to be astonished, I grade myself an A. I am not good at alot of things, but I was born to be a Mom. I work, but do not have a "career" because being a Mom is what I love and do best. I have raised a son who is now in college, he never got in trouble, came home drunk, smoked or raised his voice to me, he is smart, funny and has been in a steady relationship for 5 years. (I raised him by myself until he was 12). I also have a 7 year old daughter who is a straight "A" student , plays soccer and loves animals. I must have done something right (along with my husband) because my kids are smart, happy, respectful and have a great sibling relationship, even with the 13 year age difference. I don't believe in spankings (other than a swat on the rear), I believe children should be seen AND heard and will give respect when given it. Most importantly I tell them I love them EVERY day. To be honest, I guess I should give MY Mom an "A", I learned my parenting skills from her. :)
EDIT: I have been reading other answers, you all are being too hard on yourselves, if you recognize that you have problems that need to be fixed you are GOOD parents, give yourself a break!

I'd probably give myself a B. There's always room for improvement and I made quite a number of mistakes along the way. If I had just done a little better on my Consistency test, and paid more attention in my Patience class, I'd have earned that damned A by now! :)

I would give myself an F
My Husband and I are having trouble and fighting a lot, our finances are horrible since he was laid off for a short time and catching up is hard. I am stressed, tired and depressed and I am sure that all this is affecting the kids. Funny how I think about this subject daily and there was a question about it. I am confessing to an F. Hopefully I can bring my grade up soon.

I give myself a B, but I would be more interested to find out how my daughter graded my parenting. The biggest mistake I made was thinking that she would naturally make the right decisions. Also, I found that she needed my presence just as much, if not in the same way, when she was older.

I'd give myself a B - with room for improvement. I have little ones and I love them but I am not always patient with them. I always pray for more patience though. I try to make them happy without spoiling them, I try to do what they ask me to do and give them what they want as long as it is in my means and it is beneficial for them. I always want them to be humble and appreciate the things they have. I often remind myself that this is new to me and as far as I know I have never lived this life before so I am going to make mistakes considering I don't exactly know what I am doing and I just try to grow and learn from them.

I would have to say... ummm... a C+. I think that I'm a very good parent, but I deffinately have room for improvement. I may yell too much some times, and I don't get to spend enough time with them lately, but I love them and they love me. We have a good relationship. They're my babies, and I'd never let anything happen to them.
