India is rising in terms of wealth n development of rich people. Poor India is getting poorer in same proportion to the wealthy India. Rich is getting Richer n Poor is getting Poorer. So there is a huge gap between The India which is developing or say rising and Bharat which still is living on the footpath n slums. India has two faces India and Bharat. India is feeding like a parasite at the cost of Bharat.

The only development we see is in terms of India's image in the foreign worlds but the question is : Is it the kind of Development we need in a Country. Only young generation can make the difference here by breaking all the traditional barriers which are keeping this Bharat aback. Help Poor in earning his life n uplift them. Find ways to make them self sufficient n to come in the line of developed world.

One can't ignore the poor people and say India is developing.

Of course India is rising. India today is exploring space, launching satellites through its own launchpad, providing cure for incurable diseases, being strong and prosperous technically.
East, West, North, South, we are coming forth from every direction.
India was always a golden bird and its still the same. Only those people are poor today, who don't want to work or not working using their mind.
The only super power in India is its exceptionally intelligent mind.
And if still there are some differences then I think these are important because if everyone become rich none would want to do factory or cleaning level work. Their prestige and position will come in their way to do small works.
So I think we should not take it as an alarming matter but yes we should always try to let them earn their necessities so that they can also live contently.
We can not depend on our government for it, only we have to it. So don't raise the question, just try to take out the solution and that's too which is beneficial for all parts of society.

As well as the farmers of India are concerned, some revolutionary steps have also taken in this regard. Don't worry. Gradually everything will be all right. India is awakening and know that farmers have always had its life vein in their hands.

If you examine India in a historical context, then can understand the term, India rising. You must bear in mind that India as a country has only existed over the last 50 years. Like China, India is (depending on how you look at it) blessed or cursed with having the second largest population on the planet (~1.1 Billion). So to a business-minded person or country, 1.1 Billion people equals 1.1 billion spenders. India's work force (~60%) is agriculturally based. By comparison, 60% of America's work force was agriculturally based in 1860 (only 80 years after America became a country). Today only ~1% of the American labor force is involved in agriculture. India also has the lowest literacy rates in the world (60% in India vs 98% in US). Once the Indian government can improved upon this statistic, India will really take off and become the next Superpower.

India and its economy is on a Fast Track.
So is the growing Economic Disparity say for example :100Rs available in India is not equally distributed amongst the 100% of her population .Say 20% hold the 80 Rs and the rest 80% hold the 20Rs.
As smple as that.
Though the Growth Rate of the Economy is High(Result - The Corporates,Investors,Banks etc.get richer)-More Money to Spend on Investments,Better returns to share holders
But...
Inflation is also on a high.
Result -The Common Man will have more spendings due to Less value/rupee and little savings and no investments adding to Poverty.

India is a developing nation with a good economic growth rate. We are facing the problem of concentration of wealth in a few hands. Now the situation is improving for the better. Equal distribution of wealth to all regions of the country and sections of the society is not possible all of a sudden, though it is one of the primary aims of our economic development.

Today people have more opportunities. Indians can dream and realise it. Indians are more confident. So the problems of the country can be solved and go ahead with confidence to reach our goals.

Have patience. India is going to make it big.

Why is there so much poverty in India? I would assume that would change soon. I know many U.S. jobs are being sent to India. I know telecommunications, personnel, and computer/technologies are 3 hot fields right now. One of my family members works for a computer company where many engineering jobs are going there.

They are getting low pay right now, but I would assume that once many of our customer service and computer jobs are located in India they would be able to get raises, and they should be able to get good pay.

I also predict that if any of those computer engineers are slightly intelligent, which I would assume some of them would be since we are hiring them in large quantities, that they would take a large number of our technologies and open competing computer and technology companies. I think the computer companies are saving money in the short-term hiring Indian workers, but will lose money in the long-term. But I think the CEO's and boards of those companies don't think long-term, their brains are bloated by those huge salaries!

Definitely India is rising, considering the past.

In 1920's , only 10 percent are educated, now it is 70 %.

Similarly people in poverty range also decreases considerably. yes, still there are lot of people are in poverty range.but considering the past,we are better now. our latest rising example is, an indian company, tata buys out an european steel company. No body, even imagined this in the past.

It is rising. But I have heard that the Hindu caste system is still common in India nowadays.

With that caste system, there will be poverty and poor people won't be able to develop themselves.
