batman is all talent. He has NO super powers

Superman has actually tried to kill more people then Batman has. Bruce is cooler because he has a darker edge to him that Superman (no matter how much they try) just will not. That is why Batman is referred to as the "Dark Knight" and Supes is called the "Big Blue Boyscout".
Plus imagine how scary it must be fighting a man you know will beat the **** out of you, possibly cripple you, and then turn you over to the police, anyway. Where as Superman would exile you to the Phantom Zone.... after you attribute his kicking your *** to the fact that he is a super powered alien.

Batman has a history of being a brood, with little problem causing damage albeit he never kills, unless you are refering to the VERY FIRST comics, then he kills without thinking twice. There is a whole psychological issue that the Batman mythoes bring up that no other comic brings up. There is a much more chilling aspect to the Dark Knight than the Man of Steel.

If you were a common criminal, what would you fear more?
Some guy flying out of the sky that could wrap a lamp post around you like a pretzel or some guy that hides in the shadows, has a lot of neat toys and can scare the crap out of you without so much as saying a word.
It is Batman's presences that makes him so cool. Also the fact that he has no super powers, that he is extremely educated and has honed his body to be the perfect weapon.

The Batman does not kill his foes, he turns them over to Gotham City PD. That's why Arkham Asylum is filled with the criminally insane. Bats is cooler because he is dark and mysterious.

Batman doesn't waht the trouble of facing them again. But does that make him better than them?
Actually, in the movies, they die because of their own actioins. In comics, Batman turns them over to the police
