I don't think spiders actually eat anything. When a fly or small insect lands in their web they spin like a cocoon of it's web strands over it, completely encasing it so it cannot escape, and while it is still alive they then drink the bugs, it's blood and fluids, with it's fangs. At least the common small spiders that get into people's homes in most developed nations...You might try going to a pet store and buying some things for it to drink. Or maybe get a little piece of raw beef or chicken, uncooked, and cut it into a very, very small piece and stick that in its web just to see if it will consume it.

many spiders eat insects or smaller spiders, but be careful some small insects and spiders can kill bigger spiders. and it also depends on the type of spider. well if it was me i would put it outside, but since you want to keep it i would feed it some knats, or some small flying insects. make sure they are small and alive and if the spider has a web make sure the insect gets stuck in the web.
hope that helps.

Depends on the size...smaller spiders usually eat a variety of insects and other small arthopods including other spiders. Big spiders, such as tarantulas can eat mice and birds.

Hi, Spiders eat insects that get caught in their webs. I don't think they eat the insects per se, but suck all the liquid from their prey. That is why you will sometimes see insects in the webs that are larger than the spider.

All spiders are predators. They do not eat plants, but only other living animals. Insects, spiders, invertebrates, some small vertebrates are the typical prey items.
