I'm joining my high school track team and I'm think about doing pole vaulting. But one little thing, I have no idea how.
I really don't want to just go out there the first day and really hurt myself for not knowing. So anyone know how to pole vault?

I pole vaulted in college and learned it late it the game. Love it. Still some of my best memory's because I really wanted to Vault. On the first day out your not really vaulting you will be doing some easy drills... like learning to carry the pole and running at the same time, then learning to plant the pole on a flat surface not in the actual pole vault pit. Vaulting is one of the hardest sports in the world. You have to run full speed while carrying a pole. Timing has to be perfect when planting the pole not to mention raising you arms and jumping at the same time. Still a great sport, you just have to learn on piece of it at a time, You will have a great time. Go for it, your coach and many others will be glad to help.
