Why are these killings taking place? It has been said that those numbers and the number of fighters killed are all but a hoax.

I don't know if I believe that, but is there any credible evidence that supports the fact that there are parties that want to instigate violence in Iraq to meet thier own goals? I am not only refering to those extremists in Iraq.

I know that it is from Al Jazeera, but this is not something we could find on CNN.

I would also like to include the Iraqi government as one of those parties.

I cant vouch for how accurate that article is, but i will say this. Every morning in Baghdad alone (not counting the rest of Iraq) they find an average of 50 Iraqi civilians murdered-their hands tied in back of them and signs of torture. Holes drilled in their heads with power-tools and even worse. These people are being murdered by the militias, by the Shiites, by the Sunnis, by Al Qaeda. This is not being done to "kill the enemy" its about bringing fear into the rest of the Iraqi population. Fear to keep them from working with the New Iraqi government and the United States military. To try to keep them from helping to rebuild their country. Its not just one group behind the violence in Iraq. Everyone is killing everybody. Sometimes its like these people would stand alongside of a man who murdered their own brother to fight against Americans who want to help them.

I definately agree with justdaves, he could not have said it any better. People from all sides are trying to keep that country from prospering, and that is why the violence does not stop..
