what observation can you make about the successive partial sums of this series? what whole number does it appear that the sum will always be smaller than?

This sequence will actually always be smaller than 1.5 (the sum converges to 1.5 as the number of components goes to infinity) so it will always be smaller than 2 (or any larger whole number)

After the number 1, the fractions all have to do with the number 3. All the numbers added together are smaller than the whole number 2.

Each number is divided by 3. or it could be multipied with 1/3.
