I say it depends on your situation.
If you live in a third world country, maybe the most sought after thing is a regular source of food and water.
If you have a terminal illness, maybe the cure for that illness is the most sought after.
If you live in oppression, maybe freedom.
If your family is getting murdered and kidnapped every night, maybe security is sought after.
If you are very ambitious and have the means, maybe world domination is the most sought after?

Hm... "peace" was the word that came to mind.
When people have peace, so many other things don't bother us anymore.
