movies are filmed on soundstage like in movies like Sin City or the show Friends. I have never heard of a filmstage before ever. Basically soundstages are used to symbolize small areas like an arpartment, a corner outside of a building or things that need green screen. It is an easier way rather than paying for outrageous permits for shouting something in New York or looking for a location.

I've never heard of a filmstage, but I always hear about films being shot on soundstages, so that's my guess.
