I think it is great for those who are agreeable to it. I wouldn't mind sharing the housework and childrearing but I don't share the sex...So it wouldn't work for me

I am fine with it as long as it is understood by all involved. I do not agree with arranged marriages with polygomy in mind. I do not agree with the extremist in Utah on their cultish ideas.
I do agree with some of the traditions in Asia though. For example in Bali, Indonesia it is acceptable for a man to have more than one wife, but the first wife has to consent to the wedding. I believe that two people go into marriage together. Therefore they both should have an equal say in the terms of the marriage. I do not like male bigots, who feel that they are superior by having a dick.
Just ask Loraine Bobbit here feelings on the situation!

I enjoy the HBO series "Big Love," which deals with polygamy, but I don't think I could live that lifestlye personally. Unless of course I could be "first wife" and we'd have a second wife to do all the cleaning... and maybe a third to do all the cooking... of course there's also the shopping... oh, and the gardening... the laundry... oh, nevermind!

If this is having more than one mate, it takes very strong people to do that. I am not sure how that could work smoothly, not that anything does. I think if there was no such thing as HIV and stuff it might be good if both partners agreed I guess? Kind of wierd. Were does responsibility lie? How does respect and honor be defined? To confusing? How would the reat of the real world take that? Interesting question to think about.

One nagging wife is enough. Now if this culture allowed concubines or mistresses without repercussions that would do much to lower the divorce rate.

Well, its illegal. I don't really care if people do it tho. Lots of people maintain open marriages and love each other. I think that if your married and you love your wife or husband and you are not satisfied and you each agree on it, I see no harm.

About like having slaves , no more than you can feed and take care of.
Allthough having more than one wife could have it's own problems.

If a dude wants to marry two (or more) chicks, and both (or all) chicks involved agree to it, what's the problem?

I mean, it's one thing to think it's immoral. But what gives you the authority to tell OTHERS what is immoral, as long as they aren't HURTING ANYONE ELSE?
