Most of us are sadistic. We like to see who in the public eye is squirming under scandal.

Because it keeps you informed as to what is going on.We don't have the news in the UK like the US that is repeated continually, unless we tune into US stations. Our news is set at certain times of the day on 4 different channels, the same channels as regular tv.

I hate the news. To me, it's 90% bullsh*t, and 10% truth. If you flip around to different channels doing the same story you realize their facts are all different.
I prefer to read the local paper or watch local news

People watch the news because they feel it makes them informed. It is good to know what's going on in the world, but TV news is basically designed to keep you watching so they can sell more advertising.

I watch the news occassionally but I hate the media because they twist and turn crap everywhere you look. Everything that the media says is not true at all.

Because they want to be aware of what is going on around them. Afterall, no man is an island unto himself. As for movies, it is time-pass, at times bad time-pass.
