Im Filipino and travelled overnite from Singapore to KL by train. We got a room with private toilet and has television (but no station can view), supply of soap & towel. You can take a shower before u sleep. The bed is comfortable but you will be awaken on the border for imigration check. The fare is funny because same rate but out Singapore is in Sing dollar & out Malaysia is in Malaysian ringit. So if i will convert it in Peso, out Singapore is expensive than out Malaysia.

Singaporeans will not take the train from Singapore to KL when there are cheaper and faster alternatives. Take a bus or the plane.

We travelled from Singapore to Penang by train and it stopped every where including places where there was not a station. It took forever, and it was impossible to sleep due to the noise and things. We went the next time by the nice bus and it was far quicker. It took us nearly 20 hours by train to Penang but only 8 ish hours by coach and it was cheaper!!If you do a search on buses to KL on the internet as that is the way that I did it

I haven't been on a train for a long time now, but I guess if I ever do travel through the train in the near future, I would like to read an interesting novel. Now that I imagine it, it seems like something I'll seriously look forward to.

Yes I have and I enjoyed the trip. It is a nice change from the bus and feels like more of an adventure. If you don't want to travel overnight there is a day train as well.
