I've had both, dogs in the past and a cat now. I loved my last dog which was the only one who was strictly mine as I bought him. He was a Yorkshire terrier, and he was a nice sweet little dog and very smart. Dogs are more dependent than cats, require more care (hygiene and grooming) and training, also walking outside generally in all kinds of weather. I adore my cat; she is clever and intelligent and can open closet doors, the accordian kind, and drawers. She is clean and neat and keeps herself that way. She always uses her litter box; she is quiet. She sleeps on my bed; she's plays catch and fetch and understands much of what I say to her. I never would have believed that I could love her as I do. Both dogs and cats are wonderful; which you decide to have would depend upon your circumstance such as where you live. Cats do not require the amount of space that dogs do. If you should decide to have a cat, please keep it an indoor cat for its safety and longevity, and, whichever you purchase or adopt, be sure to have it spayed or neutered as Bob Barker would say!

I personally like dogs. I'm allergic to cats, so although I like them, I can't have one as a pet. I think cats are fun and you can tease them really well. Cats take less attention, as far as care goes, but sometimes they can be tempermental.

Dogs are more playful, but as puppies, they chew a lot. I lost I don't know how many shoes when my dog was a puppy. You can teach dogs more tricks then cats, and they will clean up almost any food dropped on the floor. The down side, they have to go outside to potty, and then you end up cleaning it up with a shovel. They usually cost more to take care of, and vet bills are more for dogs then cats usually.

If you get a dog that is really fluffy, be prepared to clean up a lot of hair!! I have a miniture american eskimo, big, white, fluffy. In the spring, she sheds like crazy!! We have to brush her almost every day to get all the stray hair out of her coat, and she hates it because she is so furry that it pulls her hair to brush it. Dogs are normally louder then cats, but that can be a good thing too. Our dog sounds bigger then she is, so she could scare away people we don't want at our house. Sometimes it gets annoying when she barks all the time, and we have tried everything to get her to stop, but nothing works, so we just deal with it.

My sister in law had a cat that was psycho!! She would like you one minute, then try to claw your hands off the next. You never knew if she was going to be happy to see you, or not. She was a finiky eater too. She would like her food for a day, then the next she would turn her nose up and walk away. She really was the craziest cat I have ever seen!!!

Dogs are the most suitable pets or rather you can make them to be your best friend. You might know that dogs were the best companions of man since we were living in caves. But cats have a different story.Even how much you love them, they may bite or scatch you in the next or same minute. Have you watched the movie 'Cats&Dogs'? I don't tell u to believe in that, you can search in your own! Take care of a pup & a kitten simultaniously & see the difference.GOOD LUCK!

I am an active person and I spend alot of time outside. I love the water and I love to camp, so a dog is a perfect match for me.

I love all animals, and I have owned both dogs and cats in the past, but i find that cats are too independent for my taste.

just depends on who you are.

dogs, because there more dependable, they kinda need you, but cats don't need their owners to live, but i guess its good for people that don't have enough time to take care of it. dogs are more for families.
