7 days...but I would wait at least 4 weeks or until your next cycle just to be on the safe side.

You can have intercourse anytime. But the pill doesn't take effect for a full cycle, atleast thats what my doctor told me. The pill is not supposed to make a free for all for the man to stay inside you unprotected. The pill only protects you from pregnancy 98% of the time or less. Make sure he has protection-double up with a condom or spermicide, or try the "Hurry up pull out!" method.
But since passion happens keep the pregnancy test and the day after pill handy.

you want to give your body enough time to accept the pill. give it a couple of months before having intercourse without any other contraceptives.....it is always good to have a condom for back up.
oh and by the way, pills are not 100% effective. there is still the possibility of becoming pregnant.

When I went on the pill last September they told me to use a condom for the next week if I was going to have sex. But we used condoms for at least a month after I started the pill just to be on the safe side.

If you are starting the pill for the first time...they usually say that you should wait 7 days.

2 weeks AT LEAST! before those two weeks are up, use alternate forms of birth control. technically the doctors say you should go through an entire cycle, but it is about 95% effective at 2 weeks.
