It's all about profit in the programmer's eyes. Unknown exploits can run thousands of $ per exploit easily and can be sold underground or to legit security companies. Money is a huge motivator.

There are people who prank others for entertainment or play tricks on people to get the better of them. There are other people who do something just to see how much attention they can get or how far it can go. Generally, these are the kinds of people who, with the right resources and knowledge, would build a virus. I don't think they're out to try to destroy people, they're playing a game. They probably don't even think much about the individuals who will be caught in it. They want to hear that the so-and-so virus has stumped Microsoft and major computers all over the world are falling down because of it... it's sick, but they think nothing of that either. That's my opinion anyway. :)

Many years ago, when these things started, it was just a prank. It didn't take a computer scientist to see the evil side of this and design these deadly ones we have today.
People make viruses for all sorts of reasons and with all sorts of reasons in mind: revenge, larceny, the thrill, boredom, etc. Maybe they want to find your credit card #, maybe it's just some bored high-school kids who want to see how much trouble they can stir up. Some folks do it just to prove to the world that their scripting and programming skills are up there.

I think they are board, jealous, lack knowledge, not aware they are being watched, and branded.
Evil has no morals or respect they must hate their family, work, having a life, I would not take from my family, friends, people. When the tables are turned, they will receive worse because their families , and future will suffer.
Hackers, virus take what can be fixed, they can not be and who would care about somebody that is a thief are dumb criminals.

it's supports the need for anti virus software and is the hard on for the ignorant and mischievous boy-nerd. also a means of revenge for the disgruntled fired employee of low morality or ethic.

Why does anybody want to destroy anything? I don't really know what underlying psychosis makes someone take joy in tearing down instead of building, but I can tell you that people who create them are quite proud of their creations, and take credit for them like a terrorist organization.
In simplest terms, they are bad people who like to think they're smarter than everyone else.

I was not here to answer so I am not sure why no one did. I believe they make them just because they can. It could be a form of a natural high for some.

Many times the criminal mind knows not why they do crimes .
For profit ; infamy or just being mean . I've read excuses like " I was just fooling around"- to " I don't know ". My guess is they know .

viruses are made to let programmers and other major buisnesses see what your doing... so they can get an idea on what to improve... make... or make banners to attract you to spend your money... they are positive and negitive but they are a cheap way to get users input with out surveys and such.... bs posturing... but yea ..

They get together (on the 'net) and brag about the trouble they have caused and share info on how to do more!
