...especially if you just came home from a week vacation and it looked like the fox had been stuck in there for the whole week?

It would depend,
did the fox leave a mess behind?
If it paniced due to being stuck
and not being able to find a way out,
I would be frustrated at the mess but
I would not blame the animal, I would wonder
more how it got in in the first place.

No, I think I would be upset at any mess
the fox may have made but I would not be
upset at the animal itsself.

Thank you for this
interesting question :)
I have enjoyed answering it :)

Liz.

So is it dead or did it get out. Are you concerned about getting rid of the body and smell and all the poop, pee and mess it left. I think I'd have to call a professional cleaning service. I'm a tough old cookie, but this is a little scary. Can you go stay somewhere else until you can get a little help. If not, get yourselves some masks, old clothes and muck boots that you can throw out, latex gloves, a snow shovel and/or dust pan, garbage bags and can at the ready and scoop all the stuff up and out. Get some bleach and Tide and dilute with water (look on bleach bottle for directions) and start wiping everything down (more than once with clean clothes). If it got on the carpets, I think they'd have to come out. Call your home owners insurance company. Maybe they'll pay you for "loss of use" so you can stay at a hotel. Good luck.

Awwww, I would feel terrible!!! I love animals. But I think a fox would smell food somewhere in the kitchen and get into everything before starving to death. I would be ticked about the mess but that's about it.

Upset ? Only with myself for allow the little critter to get in and not have a way out. I hope he is OK. Don't get me wrong, I would hate to clean up the mess, but I have a place inside me for those wonderful, crafty little animals.

i'm assuming its dead...my kids would actually get a very good educational lesson out of it...but also would be a little afraid that one would come in again...therefore if possible I would like to avoid the situation..but in all fairness this is a really weird question...so I am stopping my answer now.
